Currently, only Auto Interior Illumination, Light Sensitivity, and Light Off Delay are available as settings in the nav system. The Welcome Lighting setting is only accesible via an unnecessarily complex set of steps described on page 2-58 of the Owner's Manual: "1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position; 2. Open the driver’s side door; 3. Within 20 seconds after the ignition switch is pushed to the ON position, push the door open request switch on the driver’s side door handle for more than 5 seconds with the driver’s door open; 4. A chime sounds when the setting is completed."

It's not logical nor consistent to provide some lighting settings in the nav, while others are only accessible via esoteric and unintuitive hardware procedures hidden in the 520-page Owner's Manual. This is why I recommend conveniently consolidating all lighting preferences on this menu screen.

Also, for convenience, drivers should be given the ability to set whether the car automatically adjusts the Sun/Moon button settings of the dash and navigation screen. Drivers can get frustrated on cloudy days, when driving through tunnels, or driving around the periphery of a parking structure as the vehicle continually switches back and forth between daytime and nighttime settings. That is why I recommend adding Automatically Adjust Dash Lighting as an additional setting.

As an aside, it would also be nice if there were some way to control whether or not the indicator lights on the console's 'Front Defroster', 'Rear Window Defroster', 'AUTO (Automatic Climate Control ON)', 'Forest Air', and 'Air Recirculation' buttons get dimmed when the headlights are on. They can be very difficult to see during the day if one is driving with his/her headlights on (which some drivers do because the M doesn't have automatic Daytime Running Lights).
